Summer Reading Camp

Summer in Alaska is short but intense.  We’re here to help your student in a time frame that meets your schedule.

Camp is open to students entering 4th-9th grade. Camps are capped at 8 students to keep the camper to tutor ratio 4:1.
Camp price is $395 per student which includes a pre-camp evaluation and the camp.  Evaluations will be individual and MUST be completed before your student’s camp. A $50 nonrefundable camp deposit will be due at the time of the EVALUATION. The remaining balance will be due on the first day of camp by check, cash or money order. (Yes, I’m not tech savvy, and yes, I don’t want to charge you $20 for an online payment.) Please call or text for evaluation scheduling.

In June– we’ll meet 3 days a week (T,W,TH) to keep your weekends free for those fun trips around the state whether hanging out at a campsite or making a road trip.

Camp times: 9-12pm each day

After Camp:
Please remember that reading is a skill.  If not encouraged and supported at home, the gains the student makes at camp will most likely be forgotten.  The Friday following camp, we will host an optional informal meeting at the North Pole library (Noel Wien will be closed for the summer) to introduce your student to the library so you can help them get a library card if they don’t yet have one.  No time to make it to the library?  No worries! FNSB public libraries host Libby- an online virtual library- your child can check-out books to their tablet from the comfort and convenience of your home.
